Getting It Right

How to Measure

Lay a garment that fits you well flat on a hard surface and measure edge to edge with a soft tape. All AURENOATH measurements are taken flat, so this is the most accurate way to compare.

Chest / Pit to Pit

Measure straight across from one underarm seam to the other. This is the single most important number for our boxy tops.

Body Length

Measure from the highest point of the shoulder at the collar straight down to the hem.

Shoulder

Measure across the back from one shoulder seam to the other, where the sleeve meets the body.

Sleeve

Measure from the shoulder seam along the outside of the sleeve to the cuff edge.

A note on our measurements

All figures are given in centimetres with inches beneath, taken flat and unstretched. Because each piece is finished by hand, allow a tolerance of roughly ±1 cm. When you're between two sizes, size down for a cleaner fit or up for extra volume.

How It's Meant to Fit

Boxy & Cropped

Cut wide and square through the body with a shorter, boxy length. Sized for an oversized drape — not tight, not long.

Sits Away

Designed to fall away from the body, not cling. The shoulder sits slightly dropped for a relaxed line.

True to Design

If you prefer a closer fit, size down. For maximum oversized volume, take your usual size or size up.

Longevity

Care

Cold hand wash only, inside out, to avoid shrinkage and protect prints, embroidery and shape. Do not machine wash. Hang dry — avoid heat and do not tumble dry. Do not iron directly over prints or patches. Cold hand wash, inside out — the garment will thank you.

Fit FAQ

I'm between two sizes — what should I choose?

This piece is cut oversized and boxy. Size down for a cleaner, closer fit, or stay with your usual size for the full intended drape. For maximum volume, you can size up.

Does it shrink?

To avoid any shrinkage, cold hand wash only and hang dry — never machine wash or tumble dry. Treated gently this way, the fit and length hold.

How is it meant to sit?

Wide and square through the chest with a shorter, cropped body length — it should sit away from the body, not cling. If it feels slim, you've likely sized down further than intended.

My measurement falls between chart values — is that normal?

Completely. Bodies rarely match a chart exactly. Prioritise the chest / pit-to-pit measurement and use the ±1 cm tolerance as your guide.
